Impact Of Technology On The Classroom - 1118 Words

Elizabeth Rodriguez English 3 Research Paper 17 April 2017 Technology in the classroom Even though one main argument against using technology in the classroom is that it is too expensive. Technology should be used, to a certain extent, because technology is more interactive for students and they learn more efficiently using it. Should technology be used in the classroom? My opinion on the debate is yes. I think this because there are many positive and negative uses of technology to further education. One example is that nowadays we are consumed by technology, making us progress as individuals, so why should we not use it in education? The main problem is that most people assume it is costly, â€Å"...after buying the tablets and the†¦show more content†¦As the teacher is teaching, the students would most likely not pay attention and go on apps or websites they are not supposed to be on. Students will not focus and as a result, it may lead to getting bad grades. For the first problem, the cost, some possible solutions for this are to perhaps have fundraisers so everyone can have a tablet or laptop. They would be beneficial and help the kids be more sociable. Another solution for this problem are that major tablet and laptops have programs for schools, making the prices lower. For example, Apple’s â€Å"Apple and Education† program has an education discount and access to other special benefits just for schools. As for the problem of technology being a distraction, it depends on how the student and teacher are. One pro is that it is proven more students learn better and get more adapt to using technology to further enhance their learning. As a way for the teachers and students to have fun while learning the â€Å"tablets allow teachers to better customize student learning† (Mendelsohn). It is also proven that using technology to take standardized tests leads to having better grades. Given the statistics distraction from technology is not a major problem. Against the problem of technology being the cause of health problems. My argument against this are that the students would not constantly be on the tablets and most of the health issues would not be a problem.
